Thevara Sacred Heart College to Celebrate Platinum Jubilee

sacred-heart-celebrationThevara Sacred Heart College, which completed 75 years in education sector in Kerala, will be celebrating its Platinum Jubilee. The celebration will also be part of creating renowned personalities and laying the foundation for their growth from the college. During the celebration, personalities who have played a major role in the growth of the institution will be honoured.

The celebrations will be held in three seasons. The second season started in December 2018 and will conclude on January 31, 2019. The main attraction of the celebration is the various programmes which will be conducted at the college campus from January 13 to 22, 2019. Nobel prize winner Robert H Grubbs, Past Nobel Committee Chair and Current Member Prof. Jan-Erling Backvall and delegates from different countries will participate in Prof. K.V Thomas Endowment Seminar and Second International Symposium on New Trends in Applied Chemistry on January 15 th January 2019, which will be held at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Kochi.

Half marathon, international meet, Gala exhibition, Platinum Jubilee conclave, Innovative Contest, Inter College Fest, Thevara Fest and Grand Heartian Cultural Hungama are also being organized. Apart from this, fashion contest, dance festival, musical band competition for students will also be held. On 16 th January, Mr. S Girish Kumar, Chairman, HMT will inaugurate the Heritage Edu Expo 2019. The Second season of Platinum Jubilee celebrations will be concluded with an alumni meet on 20 th January.

Sacred Heart College which started in 1944 have created a community with social commitments and it is still continuing. The institution which ensured education quality and personal development helped to be one among the best 35 colleges in the country. Sacred Heart is in forefront of education in Kerala. The college received R Shankar award from the Kerala Government for meritorious service in education sector. The college also received NAAC accreditation in five star status in 2000. During 2007 it has been upgraded to A Plus.

The college has 13 UG course, 11 PG courses, diploma courses and open university courses. The college also received autonomous status. The development activities of the college is being done under the chairmanship of Prof K Thomas, MP, who is also an alumni of the college. The Press was addressed by Fr.
